The Superbowl

Monday, February 7th, 2011 at 18:41 | categories: Beer

The day turned from girly flower festivity to raw man energy as we went to a sports bar in Nice to watch the strange American phenomenon called the Superbowl. I was really more interested in the ads than the game, but as my luck would have it, the European version didn’t show them. However, with a little help from my friends beer and food, I got in to the mood (ooh, a rhyme! Rap stardom, here I come!).

The game itself is actually interesting, it just doesn’t make any sense that it lasts 4-5 hours. Then again, I often watch Formula 1 free practice sessions, so I guess I’m not the best judge. I did like observing my American fellow students, though, who went crazy about the game and yelled at people on the TV. All in all, it was a cool night, but I don’t think I’ll be watching the game next year.

Me and Ethan's illegitimate child. We call him Ted.

Sports bar food. With American sports you need American food, even in France.

    Tasty pics, dude!

  2. Ethan says:

Why did you get to name him?

Ted, as a short form of Theodore, means “gift of god”. The father of, well, any Ted, illegitimate or not, must be divine then 😛 So all in all, its quite an honour 😀

Just wait for the ice hockey world championships in April! Then you can show everybody how finns are always so very positive while watching the game and confident that it will end in victory 😉
